Children's Ministry

“And Jesus grew in wisdom and in stature and in favor with God and man.”
Luke 2:52

VACATION BIBLE SCHOOL:

For one week each summer, the church is transformed into a child’s fantasy world where the children worship together and rotate to sites where they can learn more about Jesus and His plan for their life.  This is a fun filled week for children ages K-4 through 5th grade.

Coming June 21-25, 2010: Stampede

KING’S KIDS:

For over 25 years, Standing Springs has offered a free summer Music Day Camp for ages K-5 through 5th grade.  King’s Kids meet on Tuesdays from 9 am to 1 pm throughout the summer.  Along with Bible study, crafts and recreation, the children learn a musical that they perform at the end of the summer.  In 2009, the children presented GPS—God’s Plan of Salvation.

SUMMER CAMPS:

Each summer children ages 7-12 have the opportunity to attend a week long overnight camp at Camp Marietta in northern Greenville County.  This camp is sponsored by the Greenville Baptist Association.  Standing Springs has adopted a cabin at the camp.  For more information (www.campmarietta.com)

PARENT CHILD DEDICATION:

This is a special time for parents to partner with the congregation in prayer to commit to the raising of that child in a Godly home.  This service is traditionally a part of our Mother’s Day service.  Other dates can be scheduled on an as needed basis.

FAMILY EVENTS:

These are planned throughout the year to promote family fun and get to know one another better.  Some examples of past events are an annual Back to School Bash, Fall Festival, Trunk or Treat, Birthday Party for Jesus and an Easter Egg Hunt.

We love kids and they are a vital part of the family of faith at Standing Springs. Our goal is to partner with families in building a spiritual foundation and helping them grow in their walk with Jesus Christ. We offer a variety of ministries and provide a safe and fun place  where children are exposed to God’s word every time they are in our care.  The ultimate goal in this faith journey is to lead them to follow Christ as their Lord and Savior and worship and serve HIM.  We offer many opportunities for children to learn about God, Jesus, the Bible, Creation, Church, Family, Community and Self through our weekly Bible Study.

BIBLE STUDY:

The Bible study hour is the backbone of our Children’s Ministry and classes are age graded for children from birth through 5th grade.  We use Lifeway Curriculum which follows the Systematic Levels of Biblical Learning and teaches Bible Skills. Click Here for more information.
Bible Study meets every Sunday at 9:15 am.

Preschoolers from birth through K-5 are cared for in their rooms during the Morning Worship services.  Care for children ages 3 and under is provided during the Evening Worship Service.  Additional activities are provided that correspond to that morning’s Bible study lesson.  Parent Volunteers serve on a 4-5 week rotation schedule.

 SAFE AND SECURE

Children are truly a gift from God and we want you to feel safe while they are in our care.  It is the purpose and intent of Standing Springs to provide a safe and secure environment to teach and care for children.  Our goal is protection from child abuse, sexual abuse, or any type of inappropriate behavior by employees or volunteers of the church.  All workers with minors are required to undergo a background screening and attend training.
