“Train up a child in the way he should go and when he is old he will not depart from it.”  Proverbs 22:6

PURPOSE:

Standing Springs Baptist Church Child Development Center (CDC) was organized in 1977 by the church to be a ministry to families in the community.  We seek to do this by providing a warm and secure atmosphere where children are cared for and the love of Jesus is taught to children and shown to parents.  The CDC is a non-profit Christian Childcare Center serving children ages 6 weeks through K-5 and an After School Program and Summer Day Camp for children through 5th grade. Our primary goal is to provide a nurturing environment where each child has the opportunity to develop mentally, spiritually, physically, emotionally and socially. The CDC is a registered church facility (#56) with the South Carolina Department of Social Service (DSS).  The center complies with required fire safety and Department of Health regulations and has annual inspections as required by law.  All staff undergo an FBI and Child Abuse Registry Clearance before being hired.  All staff have at least 15 hours of professional growth training annually.

PROGRAMS:

1.   Full Daycare for ages 6 weeks through K-5 year round

2.   Preschool Only/Kindergarten Program for ages K-3 through K-5 during the school year (September-May) Available for 2, 3 or 5 mornings a week from 9:00 am to 12 noon.

3.   After school Program for ages K-5 through 5th grade who attend local public school.  Currently we pick up at Plain, Simpsonville and Bryson Elementary Schools.

4.   Summer Day Camp for ages K-5 through 5th grade

HOURS OF OPERATION:

Monday through Friday:   7:00 am – 6:00 pm
Closed on Major Holidays

CURRICULUM:

We are a Christian education program where Biblical principles are incorporated into every aspect of our curriculum. The CDC uses a theme based curriculum for ages 2 and up centered around the WEE LEARN Curriculum.  In addition the K-4 and K-5 class incorporate some of the A Beka curriculum.  The classes are structured and have a combination of large and small group activities.  The Bible is used daily and children are involved in scripture memory. Ages 4 and 5 attend a weekly chapel.  Children also work on academic readiness skills such as colors, shapes, letters and numbers.  We offer music, art and physical activities for the children, too.  We follow the public school cut-off date (September 1) for ages 2-5.

"I cannot begin to describe the joy in my heart when I pick up my child from Standing Springs. She just turned 2 and is counting to 10, recognizing colors and shapes, sings songs with hand motions, and learns stories from the Bible. She uses manners and cares about her friends at school. Standing Springs staff is making my daughter a well-rounded little girls and it's because they put God first in their day to day routines and they love each and every child that comes through the door. Being a school teacher and a Christian, I wouldn't want my child anywhere else."

"We would like to say Thank You for the wonderful care you provided for our 2 children. You have truly been a blessing in our lives. You have been such a significant influence in teaching them about God and living a Christian life. That was very important to us. We have been very pleased with the care of our children and will always highly recommend the CDC."

"We have been blessed to be a part of the CDC Family for the past two years.  We have watched with joy as our son has developed a deeper connection with Christ and established a caring spirit towards others.  We especially want to thank the staff for showing patience with our son as he learned to be more Christ-like in his words and actions.  This has been the biggest blessing of all.”

“We have had our two children enrolled since they were tiny babies.  Our daughter comes home with so much insight about Jesus.  We are so pleased with all she is learning.  The kids love their teachers and we can tell our children are loved by all the teachers.  Standing Springs has truly blessed our lives because we can confidently know our children are being held near to Jesus every day.  Thanks.”

"As the day approached to drop my newborn daughter off for the first time, I was consumed with dozens of emotions: from guilt to sadness to anxiety.  It would be the worst day of my life.  Until I walked into the CDC—from that moment on all my emotions were calmed and I felt “at peace”.  Because of all the loving teachers and the way they each embraced my daughter and me.  I know God sent us to just the right place.  Thank you all for loving us and taking such great care of my daughter."

"Standing Springs CDC has always meant so much to me.  I am a working mother and it makes my workdays much easier knowing my children are here.  I consider the staff like family!  My kids love to come and I can leave knowing they’re happy and well taken care of.  There is a lot of love and caring at the CDC and I hope they know how blessed we are to have them.”

It has been a true blessing having our son here at the CDC this year. We have been amazed at his academic growth as well as his spiritual growth.  We can’t say enough about his dynamic teacher who has given him the tools to succeed.  We wouldn’t dream of having him anywhere else.  Thank you for such an awesome ministry.

“It has been a joy to have our three children at the CDC.  We feel that the CDC is truly ministering to our children through daily lessons, music and activities, bulletin boards, prayer boards, etc.  It has meant so much to us that our children are learning about God’s love all day long and not just when they are home. Our oldest enters first grade in the fall and while we are sad that he will no longer be at the CDC we know that he has been blessed with not just a strong academic foundation, but a strong Christian foundation as well.  Thank you.”

“My son came to the CDC when he was 4 months old and now he is about to graduate!  The CDC has truly been a blessing to our family.  From the 1st day that we brought him here as a tiny baby to today, we have felt a sense of peace in leaving him in the CDC’s care.  The staff at the CDC have been wonderful. They are sincere, loving and very knowledgeable.  My son has grown physically, emotionally, intellectually and spiritually with the loving guidance of the CDC staff.  We are forever grateful for the wisdom you have shown with him and his parents.  He will be leaving the CDC with a strong sense of character and a true love of the Lord.  We are so proud of the CDC and the staff here.  Thank you for being such a blessing to our family.  God bless.”

“We have been a part of the CDC family for 8 years and it truly is a family!  Our children are being loved and cared for by the most wonderful staff and they are learning about God’s love for them.  We are truly blessed to be part of the family.”
