News for CDC Parents

REMINDERS:

**Make sure that all belongings are labeled with your child’s name.  With the cooler weather now here, there are many jackets that are left behind.  We cannot get them back to their owner if there is no name inside.  We try to go outside everyday unless it is raining. Thank you!

**If someone other than a parent is going to be picking up your child we must be notified in writing.  Either send in a note or write it on the daily sign-in sheets.  Inform all new visitors that they must stop by the office before going to a child’s classroom so we can check their ID.

** During this H1N1 season, continue to keep your child home if they are exhibiting flu like symptoms.  The new DHEC rules are that children must stay at home if they have a fever over 100 and one other symptom like cough, irritability, etc.  They must be free of fever for 24 hours WITHOUT the use of fever reducing medication.  Thank you for your compliance with this matter.

MAY NEWS FROM THE CDC

The end of school is fast approaching and here is some information to help you keep up with the many upcoming activities…

CDC GRADUATION: This is always a highlight of our school year and the children are busy preparing for the program.  The service will be held on THURSDAY, MAY 27 at 7:00 PM in the church sanctuary.  The Two-year-olds through Five-year-old Kindergarten classes will be participating.  Childcare for younger siblings (toddlers and under) will be provided to allow parents to enjoy the program.  The theme of the program is Noah’s Ark.  Your child’s teacher will send a note home to let you know he/she will need to wear as well as well as the practice schedule.  Relatives and friends and welcome so be sure and invite them! (Thursday, May 27th is the last day of class for Kindergarten only students.)

TEACHER APPRECIATION WEEK:  May has been traditionally set aside for Teacher Appreciation and we know you will want to join us in celebrating the GREAT STAFF at the CDC who go the second mile in caring for your child and showing the love of Christ in what they do.  Next week, May 10-14 will be our Teacher Appreciation Week and parents are invited to bring in goodies for the whole staff.  Just leave them in the kitchen when you drop off your kids and we will share them at lunch or break time with the staff.  You can bring something any day next week that is convenient for you.  Suggestions—anything chocolate JJJ, muffins, bagels, fruit, salads, veggie trays, meat trays, sandwiches, casseroles, cakes, cookies, drinks, etc.

Remember that the CDC dress code policy is that children must wear tennis shoes or closed toe shoes with a strap around the heel.  Children are very active and can trip and fall when wearing flip-flops or slip-on shoes.  Although that is the style now, please dress your child in appropriate footwear for play at the CDC.  Thank you!
