New Beginnings
A new year always brings a season of new beginnings, a chance for a fresh start. This January SSBC will host a New Beginnings Revival led our prospective pastor. The Pastor Search Team feels that this is the man God is leading to be our next pastor. The New Beginnings Revival will be January 22-25. Be praying that God will pour His spirit out on us and that we will respond as He leads us.
“Wise Men Still Seek Him”—Matthew 2:1-12 (January 1 at 10:30 a.m.)
The magi were persistent in their search for the Christ child. God took the initiative to bring salvation to us, but we have the responsibility to respond to his offer of grace. Are you seeking Christ’s leadership in your life?
“Grace and Condemnation”—John 8:1-12 (January 1 at 6:00 p.m.)
Are you overwhelmed by your failures? Do you feel that you are beyond God’s grace and forgiveness? Join us as we explore from God’s Word how Jesus responded to a woman who was overwhelmed by her sin.
“The Key to Spiritual Awakening”—2 Chronicles 7:14 (January 8 at 10:30 a.m.)
At the dedication of Solomon’s Temple God told Solomon what was needed for spiritual awakening for those who have grown apart from the Lord. God has provided a way for a new beginning . . . for all of us.
“Impact Your World”—Luke 3:1-17 (January 8 at 6:00 p.m.)
A part of being human is the desire to make a difference in our world. We want our lives to count, to impact others. In many ways, John the Baptist was an improbable candidate to impact the world. Yet God used him to make a difference in the lives of many and to prepare the way for the ministry of the Messiah.
“Preparing for Revival”—2 Kings 22-23 (January 15 at 10:30 a.m.)
Josiah as king of Judah, sought genuine spiritual awakening for his nation. Learn from God’s Word how to prepare for revival. Do we really want to see God move in our lives? Are we willing to obey His Word?
“Facing Life’s Storms”—2 Mark 4:35-41 (January 15 at 6:00 p.m.)
Life is full of storms. They are often unannounced and unexpected. Yet God never deserts us in the storms of life. Rather he teaches us in them and sometimes carries us when we can’t carry ourselves.
